Our suggestions
After spaying, a gentle alternative to the cone
After spaying or abdominal surgery, your cat must not lick or nibble the wound. A cone prevents it, but it gets in the way when eating, drinking and moving around. This post-surgery recovery suit covers the belly, sides and back like a second skin: the operated area stays out of reach of the tongue, and your cat moves, eats and sleeps normally.
At a glance
- Covers the belly and back, from the neck to the hips
- Ribbed collar tightened with a cord and cord lock
- Overlapping back panels, four leg openings, tail free
- Light, breathable fabric in polyester, according to the manufacturer
- 5 pastel colors, 3 sizes, also for small dogs
Which size to choose?
Measure the chest girth (just behind the front legs) and the back length (from the base of the neck to the base of the tail). Choose by chest girth; if your cat is between two sizes, let the back length decide: the suit should fit snugly without squeezing, and cover the whole operated area.
| Size | Chest girth | Back length |
| S | 28 to 34 cm | 23 cm |
| M | 34 to 40 cm | 28 cm |
| L | 38 to 46 cm | 36 cm |
Manufacturer's measurements, accurate to within 1 or 2 cm.
Good to know
Ask your vet for advice: depending on where the wound is (legs, tail, head), a cone may still be needed. Keep an eye on your cat for the first few hours, and take the suit off if it gets wet or dirty. If a cone is needed, see our inflatable collar or our sunflower cone.
How do I put it on?
Slip the front legs, then the hind legs, through the openings, adjust the overlapping back panels, then tighten the collar cord with the cord lock without squeezing the neck: you should be able to slide a finger under it.
Can my cat use the litter box while wearing it?
Yes: the rear, under the tail, stays free. Still check that the suit stays clean.
How long should it be worn?
Until the wound has healed, following your vet's instructions, usually until the check-up or the removal of the stitches.
How do I care for it?
Wash it by hand in soapy water and let it air dry. With two suits, your cat always has a clean one.
