Our suggestions
Invisible stains jump out at you
A smell that lingers, but you cannot find where it comes from? In the dark, this 365 nm UV flashlight makes the dried urine stains of your cat or dog show up: they glow fluorescent yellow-green on the rug, the sofa, the floor or the bottom of the walls. You clean in the right place, and your pet is no longer drawn back by the old smell.
At a glance
- 365 nm UV: little visible violet light, so the stains' fluorescence stands out clearly
- USB-C rechargeable, cable included, charging indicator
- Pocket size: 7.7 cm and 27 g, aluminium body
- Rain-resistant, but must not be immersed in water
- Also handy to check your cleaning: a properly treated stain no longer glows
How to use it
- Darken the room: the darker it is, the better the stains show up.
- Sweep the floor and the bottom of the walls from 30 to 50 cm away.
- Spot the areas that glow, then clean them with an enzymatic cleaner, which destroys the smell instead of masking it.
To limit accidents around the litter box: our litter and hygiene department.
Do all urine stains glow?
Dried stains show up best, in complete darkness. A stain that has already been washed may glow less, and other materials (some household products, textile fibres) also react to UV.
Is it dangerous for the eyes?
Never point the beam at anyone's eyes, yours or your pet's, and keep the flashlight out of reach of children.
How long does the battery last?
About 1 to 1.5 hours of use, according to the manufacturer. The indicator is red while charging and green when charging is complete.
Can it detect ringworm?
Some types of ringworm glow under a UV lamp, but not all: if in doubt, only your vet can make the diagnosis.
Once the stain is found, how do I get rid of the cat urine smell?
Blot, rinse with cold water, then apply an enzymatic cleaner; avoid bleach, ammonia and steam. The full method, surface by surface, is in our guide cat urine: removing the smell.
