Our suggestions
Swallows everything in ten seconds? The flower slows it down
A cat that gulps its kibble also swallows air, and sometimes brings everything back up a few minutes after the meal. This slow-feeder bowl spreads flower-shaped ridges between the kibble: your cat has to fetch the pieces one by one, with its tongue and paws, and its meal lasts longer. Made of glazed ceramic, it is heavy, stable and easy to wash.
Key points
- Flower-shaped ridges that slow the meal down
- Glazed ceramic: heavy, stable, does not hold odours
- 15 cm wide, 3.5 cm high
- 4 pastel colours: white, pink, blue or yellow
- For cats and small dogs
How to use it
Pour in the kibble ration and spread it between the ridges; for wet food, spread it over the bottom with a spoon. During the first days your cat may take a little longer to find its food: that is the point. Put the bowl on our absorbent feeding mat to keep the floor clean.
Is it suitable for wet food?
Yes: spread it over the bottom, between the ridges. Your cat will lick it more slowly than from a flat dish.
Is it dishwasher safe?
The manufacturer does not say: wash it in hot soapy water, with a small brush for the hollows between the ridges.
Is it fragile?
Like any ceramic, it can break if dropped on a hard floor; at floor level it is perfectly safe. Its weight also keeps it from sliding.
And for a dog?
It suits a small dog eating small kibble. For a bigger dog, see our maze slow-feeder bowl.
My cat vomits its kibble right after eating: what should I do?
It often ate too fast or too much at once: a slow-feeder bowl and split meals solve most cases. If it continues, or if it vomits more than once a week, it needs examining. What the colour of the vomit means and when to see the vet: our guide cat vomiting.
My cat eats too fast and brings its kibble back up: what can I do?
Several small meals, this ridged bowl, and separate feeding spots if there are several cats: a cat that eats under another's gaze gulps and then regurgitates. More than one vomit a week means a vet visit. Our article on the dog that eats too fast also covers the greedy cat.
